EV charger installation in Pretoria
Wallbox installs for Pretoria homes and security estates, planned around your supply, your estate's rules and the Tshwane or Eskom paperwork.
EV charging for Pretoria homes and estates
Pretoria and Centurion are home-charging country. Most EV owners here live in freestanding homes or security estates, park in their own garage, and charge overnight. That makes a well-installed wallbox the most useful thing we do here.
Our Gauteng team [based in [Suburb]] covers Pretoria and Centurion for site assessments, charger supply, installation and commissioning, with a Certificate of Compliance on every job.
Security estates in Pretoria East and Centurion
From Moreleta Park and Faerie Glen to the Centurion and Irene estates, a large share of our Pretoria work is in estates governed by a homeowners’ association. Even when the charger is in your own garage, estate rules often cover external alterations, trenching across common areas and contractor access.
We make that easy:
- A short approval pack for your estate manager or HOA: charger model, mounting position and cable route.
- Contractor access arranged in advance, with our team’s details for the gate.
- Neat, unobtrusive installs that meet estate aesthetics.
For estates looking at shared or visitor charging, see our page for body corporates and HOAs.
Bigger stands, longer cable runs
Older suburbs such as Waterkloof, Brooklyn and Lynnwood have large stands where the garage can be well away from the DB board. Distance is often the biggest single cost on a Pretoria install. Longer runs need correctly sized cable, often armoured, and sometimes a trench across the garden or a sleeve under the paving.
We’ll measure the route at the site assessment so the quote reflects the real distance, not a guess.
Your supply: Tshwane or Eskom
Most of Pretoria buys electricity from the City of Tshwane, while some areas are supplied directly by Eskom. For a standard charger on a single-phase supply, the work is a dedicated circuit and a CoC. If you want three-phase charging or solar, an application to your supplier is usually needed, and we handle the paperwork with your municipality where an application is required.
Most homes in South Africa are single-phase, which caps home charging at about 7 kW (TopAuto, 20 May 2026). That’s plenty for most commuters. Our guide to single-phase vs three-phase charging explains when an upgrade is worth it. Browse our home and wallbox chargers to compare options.
Solar-ready charging
Many Pretoria homes already have solar and battery backup. A solar-aware charger can put surplus daytime generation into the car. It needs careful sizing so the charger doesn’t drain the battery meant for the house. See energy resilience.

Local know-how
What's different about installing in Pretoria
Tshwane or Eskom?
Most of Pretoria and Centurion buys electricity from the City of Tshwane, while some areas are supplied directly by Eskom. We check which applies before planning any supply upgrade or solar application.
Security estates
Pretoria East and Centurion are full of security estates. Many have HOA rules on external alterations, so we help you get the estate's approval before we start.
Big homes, long runs
Freestanding homes on larger stands often have the garage well away from the DB board. Cable distance is usually the biggest cost driver here.

Commissioning & handover
We configure the charger, test it with you, hand over the CoC and show you how to use it.
Does my estate need to approve an EV charger?
Often, yes. Many HOAs and estates have rules on external alterations. We'll give you a short pack for the estate manager or HOA, with the charger, its position and the cable route.
Do I need to apply to the City of Tshwane for a charger?
We haven't confirmed a Tshwane requirement specific to EV chargers. If you need a supply upgrade or are adding solar, an application to your supplier is usually needed, and we handle the paperwork with your municipality where an application is required.
Do you work in Centurion?
Yes. We cover Centurion, Irene and the surrounding estates, as well as Pretoria East, the eastern suburbs and the north. [Confirm service radius.]
My garage is far from the DB board. Is that a problem?
No, but it affects the cost. Longer runs need heavier, often armoured, cable and sometimes trenching. A site assessment gives you an accurate figure.
